The Central Crime Branch Police Inspector and his special team on Sunday opened fire at notorious absconding dreaded rowdy sheeter Pappu alias Amir khan to arrest him.
The injured absconded accused has been identified as,Pappu Alias Amir Khan (34), a resident of Shivajinagar.
Incident took place on Sunday afternoon.
This shootout has taken place at Dodda Gubbi,Kothanur police station limits.
DCP,Crime,Girish.S,with other officers visited after visiting the spot of the incident after taking stock of the situation told media persons,Pappu is Koli Fayaz’s son there were a lot of complaints against him in Shivajinagar,around 22 cases have been filed against him in the police stations he was being chased by our officers near Dodda Gubbi when they tried to take him into custody he attacked them a constable was hurt.For their protection the police fired in the air but he still didn’t surrender that’s when he was shot in the leg and is currently getting treated in yelahanka’s government hospital and after his recovery we will arrest him and investigation will be carried out by the CCB team about his antecedents and criminal records he added.
Senior officer,told media persons that,a special team led by DCP Crime,Girsh.S, under the leadership of CCB police inspector,Lakshmikanth to trace the accused.On Sunday afternoon they got credible information that the accused was travelling in a bike and was seen in Kothanur limits,as soon as the information was passed the CCB police inspector Lakshmikanth and his team rushed to the spot and accosted Pappu alias Amir khan in Dodda Gubbi area.As soon as the police inspector and his staff flagged him to stop he dint stop and tried to escape the inspector gave him a dramatic chase and zeroed in the accused near Dodda Gubbi in Kothanur police station limits the head constable Umesh tried to arrest him and to evade the arrest the accused took a knife from his pocket and attacked our head constable on his left hand injuring him and to defend themselves,inspector Lakshmikanth fired one round in the air and asked the accused to surrender but Pappu alias Amir khan dint heed to inspectors warning and he again tried to attack the constable and escape then the inspector in self defense opened one more round fire and shot at his leg and was detained by the cops the injured cop and the accused was immediately rushed to the yelahanka government hospital for further treatment.The accused has been detained successfully by the team.The 34 year old Amir khan Alias Pappu is son of History-sheeter Koli Fayaz who was killed by a gang in 1995.Pappu had managed to get bail from court in an earlier case but was not coming to the police station in connection with other cases filed against him in Bharathinagar and Shivajinagar for the past few months and an arrest warrant was issued against him by the court and Pappu alias Amir khan became a part of underworld in 2003 after eight years of his father death he was just 10 year old when his father was murdered brutally then the history-sheeter Tanveer took Amir khan alias Pappu under his wing and Pappu is involved in more than 22 criminal cases against him including 2 murder cases and a case has been registered in Kothanur police station and further investigation is on and finally Bengaluru Police Commissioner,Alok Kumar,has appreciated,DIG,Crime,BR Ravikanthe Gowda,DCP Crime,Girish.S,ACP,Balaraj,PI,
