Child Welfare Committee Member Arrested for Sexual Exploitation,Blackmail
The Rajarajeshwari Nagar Police have arrested a member of a Child Welfare Committee on charges of sexually exploiting multiple women and blackmailing them using private videos.
The accused,identified as Chandregowda,was arrested by Rajarajeshwari Nagar police following a complaint by one of the victims.
Senior officer said the accused allegedly lured women by introducing himself under false identities,including posing as a police officer,lawyer,and media representative.
He reportedly befriended women,gained their trust,and later coerced them into intimate relationships.
During investigations it was revealed that Chandregowda secretly recorded private moments with the victims and used the videos to blackmail them.
In one case,he allegedly extorted Rs.5 lakh from a woman after threatening to release her private videos.
During the investigation,police recovered more than 20 videos and photographs of different women from the accused’s mobile phone.
In another instance,the accused allegedly introduced himself as a widower and promised marriage to a woman.
After gaining her trust,he entered into a physical relationship with her and recorded private moments without her consent.
The victim later accessed his mobile phone and discovered multiple videos and chats involving other women,following which she approached the police.
Further allegations suggest that the accused even went to the extent of pretending to be married to the victim by tying a symbolic thread and creating fake documents to show himself as her husband.
He also allegedly collected her Aadhaar details and misused them.
Based on the complaint,police registered a case and arrested the accused.Further investigation is underway.
