Uzbekistan visa now free for 5 days

In the last week of May 2018, an 18-member delegation visited Uzbekistan on the invitation of Government of Uzbekistan under the leadership of Mr Sandeep Marwah & Mr Vipin Gaur General Secretary, Newspapers Association of India. On this occasion a grand reception thrown in his honour by Vinod Kumar, Indian Ambassador to Uzbekistan. Mr. Sandeep Marwah (Chairman International Chambers of Media and Entertainment Industry) & Mr. Vipin Gaur also honoured at Hotel Ramada by H.E Mr Vinod Kumar Mr Marwah also honoured at Ministry of Cinema and Culture by Furkat Zakirov, Minister of Art & Culture, Uzbekistan. The delegation had detailed discussion with Minister Furkat Zakirov, on Art & cultural aspects, Exchange of Film & cinema opportunities, Sandeep Marwah briefed the Ambassador about the purpose of the visit where he expressed the desire of launching of Indo Uzbekistan Film And Cultural Forum, a student exchange program, a faculty exchange programs, the need for film festival of Indian Cinema in Tashkent and other cities and requirement of joint short films & Feature film production with Uzbekistan.Further discussions involve ease of VISA formalities for Indian tourists i.e. waving off VISA fees for Indians and options of on arrival visa facilities to Indians. The entire travel, stay & conference arrangement was credited to world’s oldest & among the largest travel house Cox & Kings Ltd. under the supervision of their business manager Mr. Devendra K. Bhatt.

The meeting was followed by visit of Mr. H. E. Farhod Arziev, Uzbekistan Ambassador to India on invitation of ICMEI & Newspapers Association of India . The outcome of the meeting resulted in ease of VISA process for Indians. Travellers eager to visit the ancient sights of the Silk Road will soon are able to do so hassle free, as Uzbekistan has announced the launch of its new e-visa scheme, along with a five-day visa-free transit scheme. From 15 July 2018, travellers shall be able to apply for a single-entry, 30-day visa to Uzbekistan online. This marks the building of strong ties between the two countries and promotion of tourism.
