Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai took the Congress Party to task for making baseless allegations against the incumbent BJP government on corruption without providing any evidence.

Giving a reply on a budget in the State Legislative Assembly on Thursday,he mentioned making Lokayukta defunct and getting a ‘B’ report from Anti-Corruption Bureau in 59 cases and the Justice Kempanna Commission report on denotification in Arkavathi layout and said they (Congress ) did not only become corrupt but also corrupted the system.

After we came to power,we re-established the anti-corruption institution and restored all the powers. We are not going to rest till all the corruption cases of the Congress regime are enquired by Lokayukta and the guilty are punished.

The justice of the High Court issued directions to re-start Lokayukta and close down the ACB.The purpose of forming the ACB was to have control of the pending cases.

The judge in the order had mentioned about the high-profile politicians and bureaucrats were behind the closure of Lokayukta.

When some members suggested going for an appeal against the court’s order on Congress MLA K.J. George’s case, the CM said George himself admitted that all the cases of corruption were closed down during the Congress government regime.

Contradicting Leader of Opposition Siddaramaiah’s claim that not an inch of land had been identified in the Arkavathy layout, Bommai the Justice Kempanna report had mentioned the loss caused to the state.

The government had identified 805 acres of land in the name of ‘Re-do’The commission had observed that it had been done to help some vested interests and the formation of the Arkavathi layout is a big scam.

Why did the government hush up the report when the report came before the Cabinet, he questioned.

After the BJP came to power, the government addressed the problems of corruption to the citizens, and government services are offered to the people without any middlemen.

Through the Grama One scheme, various services were offered to 1.5 crore people and this year, it will be extended to 3.5 crore people.
