*“Let us keep public interest above everything else, strengthen the systems we work in, and leave Bengaluru better than we found it,says Minister.
Greater Bengaluru Development Minister Krishna Byre Gowda told officials that their work must always be guided by public interest, professional integrity and the larger goal of improving Bengaluru.
Some of the observations made by the Ministers in the review meeting:
“When you work with me, public interest must always be at the centre of your decisions and actions.”
“Use your knowledge, experience and intelligence to find better solutions and improve the quality of your work. That is where your expertise matters most.
“In public administration, there must always be appropriate checks and balances. Our focus should remain firmly on delivering work that benefits citizens.I have no personal interests to pursue, what matters to me is that public work is done properly.”
“Our responsibility is to provide good governance to citizens and make Bengaluru a better city. Every decision we take must ultimately contribute to that objective.”
“In every department I have worked in, even in difficult circumstances, I have tried to bring about reforms that strengthen the department and enhance its credibility.”
“I have always believed that when an officer takes up a difficult responsibility, there should be meaningful improvements by the time that responsibility is handed over. The objective is to create systems that officers can be proud of and that earn the respect of society.”
“The same approach is needed in Bengaluru. With the cooperation of our officers and staff, we can bring about meaningful and lasting improvements so that, together, we can hold our heads high and take pride in the work we have done for the city.”
The Minister’s message to officials:Let us keep public interest above everything else, strengthen the systems we work in, and leave Bengaluru better than we found it.”
