Special Cleanliness drive at road medians and traffic islands:Jagadish G

*14 road medians and traffic islands cleaned, 340 kg of waste removed, 10.2 km of roads cleaned.

As part of the special cleanliness drive being undertaken with the objective of maintaining cleanliness and transforming Bengaluru into a garbage-free and beautiful city,a special cleanliness drive has been successfully carried out at various road medians and traffic islands under the jurisdiction of the Central City Corporation, said Corporation Commissioner Sri Jagadish G.

14 Road Medians and Traffic Islands Cleaned:

A special cleanliness drive was carried out at a total of 14 road medians and traffic islands located at various places under the jurisdiction of the Central City Corporation.

During the drive,waste,dry leaves and other solid waste accumulated on the road medians,traffic islands and surrounding areas were cleared and the areas were thoroughly cleaned.

10.2 km of Roads Cleaned:

As part of the cleanliness drive,a total stretch of 10.2 km of roads was cleaned to provide a clean and pleasant environment for the public and motorists.

Around 340 kg of Waste Removed:

During the cleanliness drive,plastic waste,wet waste and various types of solid waste accumulated on road medians,traffic islands and roadside areas were collected and removed.

A total of 340 kg of waste was cleared during the drive and sent to the concerned units for proper disposal.

48 Pourakarmikas and 21 Staff Members Participated:

A total of 48 Pourakarmikas and 21 staff members actively participated in the special cleanliness drive and contributed to its successful completion.

Such special cleanliness drives will be continued to ensure that road medians,traffic islands and roadside areas are kept clean on a regular basis and to maintain the cleanliness and aesthetic appeal of the city,said Central City Corporation Commissioner,Jagadish G.

Citizens’Participation Essential for a Clean City:

The Commissioner appealed to citizens to cooperate by refraining from littering on road medians, traffic islands and other public places.

He urged everyone to contribute to building a clean and beautiful Bengaluru by disposing of waste only at designated places.
