Five key accused arrested in murder case of 40-year-old medical shop owner who was hacked to death by an armed gang in full public view on Madiwala Main Road on Saturday night.
The deceased has been identified as Suheil,a resident of Mangammanapalya,who was running a medical shop in Bommanahalli.
Senior officer told reporters On 22nd August 2026 at about 09:45 PM,an unidentified person murdered Syed Suhail of Mangammanapalya.
The owner of A.S.Medicals Store,near the traffic signal opposite the medical shop on Hosur Main Road,within the jurisdiction of Madiwala Police Station,and fled from the spot.
A case was registered at Madiwala Police Station and an investigation was taken up.
Under the leadership of the Deputy Commissioner of Police,Southeast Division,and the Assistant Commissioner of Police,Madiwala Sub-Division,three separate teams were formed to investigate the case.
The teams conducted an investigation and apprehended the five key accused involved in the murder case on 23rd August 2026 in record time.
Bengaluru Police Commissioner and the Joint Commissioner of Police,East, have appreciated the successful operation carried out by the police teams.
He explained further that Suheil was travelling from Madiwala towards Koramangala on his two-wheeler at around 10 pm when he was caught in traffic near Madiwala.
Four to five assailants who arrived on two motorcycles allegedly surrounded him and attacked him with machetes.
The attackers reportedly continued the assault even as hundreds of motorists and pedestrians watched,before fleeing the spot.
The assailant fled the scene after leaving the weapons at the scene.
The Madiwala police rushed to the spot and conducted investigation before shifting the body to the hospital.
Revenge for Shabir murder suspected:
Police suspect that the murder was carried out in retaliation for the killing of a rowdy-sheeter,Shabir,at Bandepalya on August 13.
Suheil’s brothers Khalim and Nazir,along with another associate,were reportedly accused in the Shabir murder case.
While Khalim is still in jail,Nazir was released on bail about a month ago.
We suspect that associates of Shabir targeted Suheil as part of a revenge attack.Police,however,are yet to establish the exact motive.
Senior police officials visited the spot and supervised the investigation.
Suheil reportedly had no criminal background and was leading a normal life while running his medical shop.
Attack allegedly planned in advance:
Preliminary investigation indicates that the accused may have planned the murder several days in advance.We suspect that the gang had been monitoring Suheil’s movements and intercepted him at a location where he was caught in traffic.
Brother vows revenge :
Nazir,who reportedly rushed to the spot after learning about the murder,is said to have vowed revenge.
Sources quoted him as saying that Suheil was not merely his brother but had occupied the place of their father,and that those responsible would not be spared.
Three teams formed:
Madiwala police immediately reached the scene after receiving information about the murder and launched an investigation and cracked the case within 24 hours
The special team are also probing why Suheil,a resident of Mangammanapalya and a medical shop owner in Bommanahalli,had travelled to Madiwala shortly before the murder and who had called him there.
