BJP party worker and realtor,Shivakumar,50,from Malur, was killed and three others were injured after a speeding Range Rover car rammed into a gas tanker while attempting to overtake it near Rani Cross on the Kempegowda International Airport Road in Devanahalli on Tuesday night.
The injured, identified as Chandan,Pradeep and Vinod Kumar,were travelling in the car with Shivakumar.They were shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Senior officer told reporters that,Shivakumar and the three injured were travelling from Chitradurga to Malur in the Range Rover.
When they reached the highway on the Hoskote–Dabaspet Ring Road stretch,the driver allegedly attempted to overtake a gas tanker moving ahead of them.
During the manoeuvre,the speeding car rammed into the tanker.The impact was severe,leaving the front portion of the luxury vehicle completely mangled. Shivakumar sustained critical injuries and died.
