Chief Minister D.K.Shivakumar on Saturday said a magisterial inquiry has been ordered into the shootout in Hanur,and the complete facts will be known after the investigation.
Speaking to reporters near the Sangolli Rayanna statue at Majestic,Shivakumar said he received information about the incident at around 5 am.
“An investigation will reveal the facts.The shootout took place in a forest area and several pieces of evidence have been collected.Items, including a firearm, have been seized,” he said.
The Chief Minister said some persons had been arrested in connection with the incident and that the bodies were being subjected to post-mortem examination.
He also cautioned against drawing conclusions based on reports circulating in the media,saying the magisterial inquiry would establish the facts of the case.
