Inspecting the progress of the Gunjur Road construction works near Soppan & More at Varthur,the Chief Commissioner directed officials to take necessary measures to prevent delays and expedite the works.
He instructed officials to ensure that there is no compromise on the quality of the works,adhere to the prescribed standards and complete the works at the earliest.
He also directed them to take necessary precautionary measures to ensure that traffic movement is not affected until the works are completed.
Maintain cleanliness around the junction:
The Chief Commissioner directed officials to remove construction debris and other materials lying around Gunjur Junction and maintain cleanliness in the area.
He instructed officials to ensure regular cleaning around the junction so that the public and motorists do not face any inconvenience.
Install road safety signage:
After reviewing the measures required for traffic safety in the junction area,the Chief Commissioner directed officials to install appropriate road safety and traffic signage at necessary locations to provide clear guidance to motorists and pedestrians.
Repair potholes at Gunjur Junction:
The Chief Commissioner directed officials to immediately repair potholes identified within the Gunjur Junction limits and ensure smooth and safe movement of vehicles.
Develop the footpath:
He directed officials to take up footpath development works at Gunjur Junction and ensure that there are no obstructions.The footpath should be developed in a manner that is convenient and accessible for public use, he instructed.
Expedite underpass works:
The Chief Commissioner inspected the ongoing underpass works at Hope Farm Junction and directed officials to expedite the process of completing the project.
He instructed officials to speed up the underpass works and complete them within the stipulated time.
Necessary safety measures must be taken during the execution of the works to ensure that the public and motorists do not face any inconvenience,he said.
He further directed officials to commence pending works at the earliest and ensure coordination with the concerned departments for their speedy completion.
Take steps to relocate the temple to a suitable location:
The Chief Commissioner obtained information regarding the relocation of the temple located at Hope Farm Junction to a suitable location.
He directed officials to examine the matter and take necessary action as per the rules to relocate the temple so that it does not obstruct public movement or the underpass works.
Take necessary measures for the flyover works:
Regarding the proposed flyover works at Varthur Kodi Junction,the Chief Commissioner directed officials to verify whether the necessary permissions had been sought,whether the permissions had been obtained and the current status of the approval process,and submit a comprehensive report.
He instructed officials to take necessary traffic management measures to ensure that vehicle movement at the junction is not affected.
He also directed them to review works that were scheduled to commence or remain pending,identify the reasons for the delay, take necessary action and complete the works within the stipulated time.
Resolve waterlogging issue near Manipal Hospital:
The Chief Commissioner obtained information from officials regarding the waterlogging occurring in front of Manipal Hospital and discussed the factors causing the problem.
He directed officials to inspect the stormwater drainage system and identify the factors causing waterlogging, and take immediate corrective measures to ensure the smooth flow of rainwater.
He instructed officials to implement permanent measures to prevent waterlogging during rainfall and complete the necessary works at the earliest so that the public and motorists do not face any inconvenience.
Ensure smooth flow of rainwater:
At the area near Jamia Masjid on Varthur Main Road, the Chief Commissioner reviewed the factors obstructing the smooth flow of rainwater and directed officials to properly inspect the stormwater drainage system.
He instructed officials to take immediate remedial measures at locations experiencing water stagnation and provide an appropriate system to prevent waterlogging.
Necessary works should be undertaken to prevent recurrence of the issue and provide a permanent solution,he directed.
He further instructed officials to ensure an efficient rainwater drainage system without causing inconvenience to the public and motorists and submit a report on the measures taken.
Repair potholes immediately:
The Chief Commissioner took note of the inconvenience that potholes on Varthur Main Road could cause to the public and motorists and directed officials to take necessary measures to ensure safe traffic movement.
He instructed officials to prioritise the safety of the public and motorists,repair the potholes immediately and ensure smooth traffic movement.
Clear debris and complete pipeline works:
During his visit to the area near Viva Fit Gym in Varthur, the Chief Commissioner reviewed the status of the road and various other ongoing works.
He directed officials to immediately remove the construction debris accumulated at the site and take measures to ensure that the public does not face any inconvenience.He also instructed them to repair potholes and complete the pending pipeline works at the earliest.
Identify locations pending demolition and take action:
At the Varthur Police Station bus stop area,the Chief Commissioner obtained information from officials regarding locations where demolition works are pending.
He directed officials to identify such locations and take necessary action as per the rules at the earliest.He also instructed them to coordinate with the concerned departments and take action without causing any obstruction to public movement.
Complete works expeditiously through coordination:
The Chief Commissioner directed the concerned departments to coordinate with one another and ensure that there is no delay in works directly affecting the public.
Pending works should be taken up immediately and completed within the stipulated time while maintaining quality,he said.
He further instructed officials to prioritise the safety of the public and motorists during the execution of works and take necessary precautionary measures to ensure that traffic movement is not obstructed on roads, at junctions and on footpaths.
During the inspection,Additional Commissioner of Bengaluru East City Corporation Lokhande Snehal Sudhakar,Joint Commissioner of Police,Traffic, Karthik Reddy,IPS,DCP Gopal, ACPs,and concerned engineers and officials were present.
