Kalaburagi Police recaptured one of the three prisoners who escaped from the Central Jail after he allegedly attacked a police team during an arrest operation in the Kapanur Industrial Area.The accused sustained a bullet injury and has been taken into custody.
Kalaburagi Police Commissioner,Dr.S.D.Sharanappa said three prisoners had escaped from the Kalaburagi Central Jail on Tuesday,following which special teams were formed across Kalaburagi,Bidar and Yadgir districts to trace them.
Based on specific intelligence,police located one of the escapees,identified as Santosh,in the Kapanur Industrial Area.

When officers attempted to apprehend him,he allegedly attacked the police personnel.
According to the Commissioner,the police first fired warning shots into the air in self-defence.As the accused allegedly refused to surrender and continued his aggressive actions,police opened fire,injuring him in the right arm before taking him into custody.
He further said the search operation is continuing to trace and arrest the remaining two escaped prisoners. Further investigation is underway.
