50% traffic e-challan fine waiver BTP collects Rs.11.94 crore in 10 days by disposing 3.97 Lakhs cases

The Bengaluru Traffic Police collected Rs.11.94 crore after 3.97 lakh pending traffic e-challan cases were settled between June 21 and June 30 under the Karnataka government’s 50% fine concession scheme.

According to official data,a total of 3,97,506 traffic e-challan cases were disposed of through the prescribed modes of payment during the 10-day period,with collections touching Rs.11,93,97,150.

The concession was introduced through a Government of Karnataka order dated June 4,2026,granting a 50% reduction in fines for pending traffic e-challan cases registered by the police department.

The scheme came into effect on June 21 to encourage motorists to clear long-pending traffic violations at reduced rates.

Officials said the initiative has received an encouraging response from the public,leading to the disposal of lakhs of pending cases while also generating substantial revenue.
