A large-scale, high intensity mock security drill was conducted at KSR Bengaluru Railway Station on 14th may in the late midnight.

Orchestrated by the National Security Guard (NSG) in close collaboration with the Railway Department, the exercise was designed to evaluate collective response to complex security threats, including potential hijackings and hostile, hostage-like situations within the station premises.

Multi-Agency Synergy:

This multi-agency operation brought together the Railway Protection Force (RPF),Government Railway Police (GRP),Garuda Special Force, and the Karnataka State Police.

The simulation demanded seamless coordination across several critical domains:

Tactical Response:The Garuda Special Force and NSG conducted specialized assault drills and building clearance manoeuvres, demonstrating precision in neutralizing simulated hostile elements.

Infrastructure&Safety:RPF and GRP personnel established outer security cordons, managed platform restrictions, and executed rapid passenger evacuation protocols to ensure public safety and protect railway infrastructure.

Strategic Command:A unified command structure was successfully tested, facilitating real-time intelligence sharing and uninterrupted communication between field units and the central Incident Command Centre.

The drill met its primary objectives of enhancing operational synergy and identifying specific logistical gaps.

By stress-testing our systems in a realistic environment, Railways and civil police have significantly bolstered rapid-response capabilities.

The Indian Railways remains steadfast in its commitment to passenger security; The exercise reinforces its readiness to protect this vital transport hub against any unlawful interference.
