In a Swift action by the Thalaghattapura police helped save the life of a 25-year-old cab driver who attempted suicide by consuming poison inside his car on Wednesday evening.
The incident occurred at around 6:10 pm in Banashankari 6th Stage,3rd Block.
According to police, the man,identified as Bramhawara CK,a cab driver and a native of KR Nagar,consumed poison while seated in his vehicle.
Unable to bear the distress,he contacted the‘Namma 112’emergency helpline seeking immediate assistance.
The alert was promptly relayed to Hoysala-156 patrol personnel attached to Thalaghattapura Police Station.
Assistant Sub-Inspector,Ashok Kumar and Police Constable Kedaralinga,who were on duty, rushed to the location and reached the spot within five minutes.
Upon arrival,the police team quickly assessed the situation,secured the individual,and shifted him to a nearby hospital in his own vehicle for emergency treatment.Their timely intervention is credited with saving his life.
Preliminary inquiries revealed that the man was under mental distress due to a family dispute regarding his marriage,as his parents were reportedly not in agreement with his decision.
He is currently undergoing treatment at Victoria Hospital and is said to be recovering.
