Threat call in name of Bishnoi gang to Maharashtra RTO officer;case registered in Soladevanahalli police station

An unidentified man posing as a member of the Lawrence Bishnoi Gang allegedly issued a death threat to a Maharashtra Regional Transport Officer (RTO), prompting police to register a case at Soladevavahalli Police Station in Bengaluru on Wednesday.

Based on the complaint filed by Prasad Shivadas Nalavade,an RTO officer from Thane,Maharashtra.The Soladevanahalli police have registered an FIR against the unknown accused .

A Zero FIR was initially registered in Maharashtra and later transferred to Bengaluru police based on jurisdiction.

According to the complaint,Nalavade had recently initiated action against auto drivers allegedly operating with fake permits over the past decade,following directions from senior officials.

On April 12,while he was in Bengaluru to attend a cricket event organised by the All India Federation of Motor Vehicle Department Technical Executive Officers Association,he received a threatening phone call.

During the call,the accused claimed affiliation with the Bishnoi gang and accused Nalavade of harassing poor autorickshaw drivers and shielding certain agents involved in irregularities.

When Nalavade asked him to visit the office and provide details,the caller refused and instead issued threats.

The caller allegedly warned the officer to increase his security,stating that the matter had reached Delhi and that Nalavade would have to change his decision.

The threats were reportedly made during a three-minute phone call.

Police have registered a case and initiated further investigation into the identity of the accused and the origin of the call.
