Karnataka Home Minister G.Parameshwara inaugurates CIDECODE-2026 Cybercrime Summit in Bengaluru

Karnataka Home Minister G.Parameshwara on Saturday inaugurated the third edition of the Cybercrime Investigation Summit CIDECODE-2026 in Bengaluru, highlighting the growing need for technology-driven policing to tackle cyber threats.

The one-day national conference, organised by the Centre for Cybercrime Investigation Training & Research (CCITR),is a joint initiative of the Criminal Investigation Department,Infosys Foundation and the Data Security Council of India.The summit was held at the JW Marriott Bengaluru.

During the inaugural session,the minister released two research reports prepared by CCITR titled “Cryptocurrency Forensics”and “Smartwatch Forensics.”

He also announced the launch of the CIDECODE Tech Hackathon and Cyber Law Ideathon,aimed at encouraging students to develop innovative solutions to real-world cybercrime investigation challenges.

Speaking on the occasion, M.A.Saleem said the summit serves as a platform for collaboration among investigators, technology experts and industry partners to strengthen the national response to cybercrime.

The event was attended by Pronab Mohanty,Sunil Kumar Dhareshwar and Vinayak Godse,along with more than 150 senior police officers from Karnataka and about 60 officers from other parts of the country.

Officials said CCITR has trained over 62,000 personnel from police, judiciary, prosecution and other agencies since its inception in 2019, significantly contributing to strengthening cybercrime investigation capacity in the country.

The summit featured technical sessions on emerging technologies, blockchain evidence, cyber jurisprudence, cross-border investigations and strengthening digital forensic laboratories.

More than 12 digital forensic technology companies also showcased the latest investigative tools and solutions during the event.
