A 21-year-old student was found murdered at her residence in Tammenahalli in Madanayakanahalli police station limits on Monday.
The deceased has been identified as Devishri a native of Andhra Pradesh and pursuing BBA at a private college. she was living in a rented house .
The murder came to light when the owner of the house noticed no movement from the house and checked to see Devishri found dead on the bed with multiple injuries on her head and other parts of the body.
He alerted the police who rushed to the spot broke open the door and conducted spot inspection.Probe revealed that Devishri had a male friend who used to visit he frequently and suspected that he could have killed her.
The police have registered a case of murder and efforts are on to track him down,who is said to be on the run.
