School principal and teacher booked for brutally assaulting 9th-grade student with PVC pipe in Bengaluru

In a case of corporal punishment,a 9th standard student of a private school in Sunkadakatte,was assaulted by the school principal and teachers with a PVC pipe and locked up in a room for being absent for two days.

The incident occurred on December 14 and the complaint filed by Divya Shankar,mother of the boy the next day following which an FIR registered against the principal a two teachers charging them under JJ Act and also under section 118 (voluntarily causing grievous hurt) and section 315 (criminal intimidation) for further investigation.

According to the complaint the victim was studying in St. Mary’s public school for the past three years and the parents are paying the fee regularly .

The accused identified as Rakesh Kumar,principal, Chandrika,the teacher and Vijay Kumar,secretary of the school were upset about the victim absent for two days and assaulted him with plastic pipe on the pretext discipline.

The accused even locked the student alone in a room for several hours.Due to this the student suffered physical and mental trauma .

The parents noticed their boy bruises all over the body and after inquiry rushed him to the doctor for medical treatment.

The school management when confronted justified their act stating that “this is how we discipline in our school,if u dont like it take the TC and leave “.

The police have issued notices to the accused to appear before them for questioning.The police have also informed the education department about the incident for further course of action.
