A 23-year-old woman died and a man sustained severe injuries after a tree fell on two two-wheeler riders.
The incident took place just a stone’s throw away from the Soladevanahalli police station on Hesaraghatta road on Sunday evening.
The deceased has been identified as Keerthana (23),a resident of Hebbal.The injured person,Bhaskar,is undergoing treatment at a private hospital.
Senior officer told reporters that around 7.30 pm, Keerthana was riding pillion with her friend on a two-wheeler and was heading home after watching a celebrity cricket match at Acharya College Grounds.
A large tree suddenly fell on the two riders,killing Keerthana on the spot while her friend escaped unhurt.
Meanwhile,another rider,Bhaskar,who was passing by sustained severe injuries and is currently receiving treatment at the hospital.
The Soladevanahalli police said that an unnatural death report (UDR) will be registered following a complaint.
