Hubballi:Varur is developing into an educational hub,and Saint Gunadharnandi Maharaj has brought about a revolution in both the religious and educational fields, said former Chief Minister and MP Basavaraj Bommai.

He was speaking today after visiting the Navagraha Teerth Kshetra in Varur,Hubballi taluk,on the occasion of the Navaratna foundation stone laying ceremony for the new building of A.G.M.R.Technical and Engineering College.

After seeking the blessings of the seer,Bommai said before the revered saint came to Varur, there was nothing here.

But after the arrival of Paramapoojya Rashtrasant Acharya Sri 108 Gunadharnandi Maharaj, this place has grown into an educational center.

This is the result of his determination. He has a great vision to provide education to the poor and especially to girls.

Initially,he had decided to develop this place as a religious center dedicated to the Tirthankaras.Later, with the dream of providing education, he has made remarkable achievements in the field of learning.

When Chief Minister B.S.Yediyurappa visited here,he extended all possible support, and with the cooperation of devotees from across India, the institution has grown tremendously.

“I often come here, and it gives me joy to see students pursuing education.I have always followed his guidance, and I have been blessed with his grace”,he added

Speaking on the occasion,Paramapoojya Rashtrasant Acharya Sri 108 Gunadharnandi Maharaj said:“We are constructing a state-of-the-art building here at a cost of ₹100 crore.

Students are already coming here from Hubballi. My wish is that students from Delhi and Bengaluru too should come here for education. When Bommai was the Chief Minister, he extended significant support to our institution.”

On this occasion,Swasti Sri Dharmasena Bhattaraka Pattadharya Mahaswamiji and members of the college management committee were present.
