“Strengthen Prime Minister Modi’s hands and teach traitors a lesson”.
Gadag:Former Chief Minister and MP Basavaraj Bommai said that if they strengthen Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s hands, teach traitors a fitting lesson, and send them home, thereby leaving behind for the next generation a vision of a patriotic, strong, peaceful, and prosperous India earned through the sacrifices of their elders, then they can truly call themselves the children of Bharat Mata.
Speaking today after inaugurating the Har Ghar Tiranga Yatra of the Dharwad division at Naragund town in Gadag district on Saturday,he saidn some strange wind has struck U.S.President Donald Trump;he gives a statement every day.
Trump imposed 50 per cent tax on India—meaning,if their products were sold there, they were taxed at 50 per cent.
Why?Because India wouldn’t listen to him or sign where he wanted. He also demanded that products grown by American farmers be allowed to be sold in India — products that their own farmers also produce.
But think— if those American goods came here, what would happen to the crops grown by Indian farmers?
The MP said Nargund is the land of the farmers’ rebellion, a land that has given us the strength to protect farmers’ interests — the birthplace of Baba Saheb and Jagannath Joshi.
If the farmers here awaken, the farmers across Karnataka will awaken. In America, only 6% of the population are farmers, but they receive nearly 60% subsidy — seeds, fertilizers, water, all included.
In India, nearly 60% of the population are farmers, but the total subsidy they receive is just about 6%.That is why Prime Minister Narendra Modi has declared that he will not compromise on farmers’ welfare — even if it costs him personally, he will protect farmers’ interests.
The former CM said during the UPA era, when Manmohan Singh was Prime Minister,a similar situation arose, and Singh went to America and signed the agreement.
But Modi is not Manmohan Singh— he is a son of Bharat Mata who will protect India’s interests. To keep this country safe, Modi has done whatever is necessary.
Farmers, livestock rearers, fishermen, and agricultural workers’ livelihoods are of utmost importance, and for that, Modi has been ready to pay any price.
Modi’s bold step
Bommai said in the 75 years after Independence, Narendra Modi is the first Prime Minister to take such bold steps for national security.
Had he agreed to those external pressures, Indian farmers might not have survived in the coming days. If the Congress party were in power, farmers’ safety would not be assured — they already know that.
Modi has instilled fear in terrorists, hunted them wherever they hide, and even struck in Pakistan. This has proved the strength of the Indian armed forces.
He said after the British left, their enemies were poverty, unemployment, and hunger. At the time of Independence, India’s population was 33 crore and there wasn’t enough food. Now they have the strength to feed 133 crore people — thanks to our farmers.
The noble work of delivering food to the poor has been entrusted to Union Minister Pralhad Joshi. Narendra Modi has waged a war on poverty, providing the poor with food, water, housing, gas, and other assistance.
In ten years,he has lifted 25 crore people out of poverty. Unemployment has been brought under control — now any trained youth can get a job. India’s growth rate is 6.5%, compared to America’s 1%. This is Modi’s India.
Number One India
The MP said by 2047, it will be 100 years since Independence. Modi’s vision is that by then, India should be the world’s number one nation.
Whether they will be alive then or not, they must work for their children’s future and for the country, unlike opposition leaders who work only for politics.
At Independence, a British teacher once asked a student what he would do for his country. The student said he would sacrifice his life.
The teacher replied: “Serving your country is not just dying for it — it is living and working for it.”The Tiranga Yatra means that the honour of the flag should always be held high, which means working for the nation.
Bommai said Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha refuses to speak inside the House, preferring to speak outside.
Trump claimed India’s economy was dead — and Rahul Gandhi repeats the same words. The World Bank has said that while the world economy is growing at 1%, India is growing at 6.5%.
Blatant lies
Rahul Gandhi, making accusations of voter fraud, is like someone holding a time bomb in his own hands and burning himself.
In 2014, when the UPA government was in power, there had already been an increase of 1 lakh voters in Mahadevapura and around 30,000 in Sarvagna Nagar. People are saying Rahul Gandhi’s claims are blatant lies, the MP noted.
Bommai said the CM Siddaramaiah accuses Modi of becoming Prime Minister through voter fraud, but in the Assembly elections he claimed Congress would win 136 seats.
If investigated, Congress’s own voter fraud would be exposed. Former Union Minister C.M. Ibrahim has himself said that Siddaramaiah bought 2,000 votes in his election.
The Election Commission asked Rahul Gandhi to submit an affidavit — he fled without doing so. Spreading false news in people’s minds is dangerous for democracy and unconstitutional.Taking an oath to uphold the Constitution does not mean you can do whatever you like.
That is why, under PM Modi’s direction and under BJP National President J.P. Nadda’s leadership—and in Karnataka under B.Y. Vijayendra’s leadership—this awareness programme is starting in Nargund. This is a good omen.
Sacrifice for freedom
Even before Rani Lakshmibai of Jhansi fought in 1857, Kittur Rani Chennamma,Sangolli Rayanna, and Baba Saheb of Naragund fought the British and gave their lives. Many others sacrificed their lives for freedom — Subhas Chandra Bose,Lala Lajpat Rai,Bhagat Singh, and in Karnataka,Mylara Mahadevappa.
‘We are the beneficiaries of their sacrifices. Now we must decide—in what form will we leave this Independence to the next generation? Will it be a strong and secure India, or a chaotic and unsafe one?.
If we resolve to strengthen Modi’s hands, teach traitors a lesson, and leave behind a patriotic and prosperous India for the next generation, then we are truly the children of Bharat Mata.”
