The government Railway police of Baiyyapanahalli Railway police has arrested three persons and cracked the murder case within 24 hours with the help of an alert loco pilot of Mysuru-Kacchigudda express train.
The accused have been identified as,Yashodha, 40,domestic help from Shankti Nagar near Tin factory and her male friends Muniraju,33,an Autorickshaw driver resident of Vijinapura and Prabhu Partiban,27,a wall painter by profession and resident of Kasturi nagar.
Senior officer,told media persons,An alert loco pilot of Mysuru- Kachiguda Express,on Saturday evening,spotted a man’s body on the tracks near Kasturi Nagar and halted the train about 40 feet away from the body.
The pilot immediately passed the message to Railway control room and the same message was passed to Baiyyapanahalli Railway Police who immediately rushed to the spot
The police rushed to the spot and pulled the body out of the track to allow the train to pass.
After pulling the body the police team noticed strangulation marks near the neck on the deceased body and took the case of murder.
After registering a murder case,a special team was formed by SP,Railways,Siri Gowri under the leadership of DYSP,Railways Ashok,team headed by PI,Baiyyapanahalli Railway Dr.Sudhakar BS and his crime team swung into action.
A special team led by a circle inspector,Sudhakar BS,and team who began to investigate to identify the deceased.
The team took the photograph of the deceased and went around the areas in and around to get the identification of the deceased.
One of the persons identified the deceased as Lokanatha,48,as his drinking partner.
The police team went to his house and detained Yashodha for questioning.A detailed questioning led her to confess to the crime.Based on her confession the police arrested the other two.
During investigation the accused confessed the crime and the accused Yashodha told the police that Lokanatha,a chronic alcoholic and unemployed,used to harass her everyday, demanding money.
Unable to bear his harassment Yashodha sought the help of his friends to eliminate him,so that she could leave peacefully.
Muniraju agreed to help her and called Lokanatha offering liquor.The duo took him near the railway track and after a couple of drinks strangled him with a rope and dumped the body on the track before returning home to look it as accidental death.
The trio have been booked under murder and attempt to destroy evidence and remanded to judicial custody and further investigation is on.
