police have arrested a Youtuber and three police constables for robbing around 50 lakh from a tax consultant after luring him into a business preposition.
Based on a complaint filed by Nagaraju Bandaru, resident of Sahakaranagar,the police arrested Praveen,a Youtuber and the kingpin of the racket along with Vijay Kumar,Santosh and Manjunath attached to Chikkajala while others involved in the racket are on the run.
Efforts are on to track the accused a police officer, part of the investigation,said .
According to the complaint,the accused lured Nagaraju into a business prepositions and called him for a meeting near a resort in Chikkajala .
As per the deal,Nagaraju came to meet them with the cash only to be confronted by police Men.
They accusing him of Hawala and took six lakh rupees from him warning not to pursue the issue further and left .
Shocked Nagaraju who had arranged the cash worth Rs. 50 lakh contacted Punith who called him to a an isolated place,assaulted and robbed his valuables and fled the scene .
The victim later approached and filed a complaint with the police who track down Praveen.
A detailed investigations led to the expose of the nexus between the accused and the policemen.
Based on the information,the Bagalur police arrested the three constables and charged the accused under section 3(5) (criminal act is done by several persons in furtherance of the common intention) 309(4) (robbery) and 311 (robbery or dacoity, with an attempt to cause death or grievous hurt) for further investigations.
This is the third incident in the recent past where policemen involved in robbery and extortion.
The CCB had arrested three constables for robbing a medical store owner offering him to sell gold coins obtained through treasure .
The Lokayukta police few days ago trapped Inspector and Sub Inspector for accepting one lakh rupees from the accused of a cheating case promising official favour.
