he Central crime Branch officials are on the lookout for a conman who posing as officer with the premier intelligence agency duped a former government employee and made away with ₹17 lakh to recruit five youth including the two sons of the complainant as field officer for a month.
The accused according to the complaint,had issued fake appointment letter forging the seal and signature of the government officials and even give them pep talk about the confidentiality and secrecy of the job .
The new recruits had even asked to join a whatsapp group to give him update about the assignment and they did not even discuss anything about the job with their parents also .
The racket came to light when the new recruits even after one month did not get the salary tried to approach their boss and called his five mobiles numbers he was using.But it was switched off .
After repeated attempts failed,Sriramachandra,father of the two recruits,approached the police and filed a complaint.
Based on the complaint,the CCB on Wednesday, registered an FIR against the accused identified as Venugopal Kulakarni, charging him under section 318 (cheating) 319 (impersonation ) 336 (forgery) 340 (use of forged documents or electronic records) for further investigations.
According to the complaint,Sriramachandra was looking for the job prospective for his two sons where he met a woman identified as Usha at a photocopy shop in JP Nagar.
Usha introduced him to Venugopal as RAW and he assured to help his children to get a job in his department .
Stating that his job warrant high level of secrecy and confidentiality,he claimed that there are many vacancies in his department and offered to get his children job without interview .
He also told Sriramachandra that he needed ₹ 15 lakh towards the expenses for running around for the work and after negotiation for getting the job for his two sons and three relatives the amount was brought down to ₹ 17 lakh and paid online.
The accused issued appointment orders for all the five youth and instructed them to maintain secrecy and confidentiality about the job and used to give them instructions on whatsapp group .
All the five followed his instructions and never used to discuss anything with each other and even with their family members, the complainant, stated .
