Transport Minister Byrathi Suresh conducted a surprise inspection of BMTC and KSRTC bus stations in Bengaluru and reviewed passenger amenities, maintenance and services being provided to commuters.
During the inspection,the minister took note of the absence of doctors at the Namma Clinic located within a BMTC bus station.
He directed officials to address the issue immediately and instructed the BMTC Managing Director to coordinate with the Health Department Commissioner to ensure medical staff are posted at the clinic at the earliest.
The minister also reviewed the arrangements for issuing free bus passes to students and directed officials to ensure there were no delays or lapses in the process.He stressed that basic commuter facilities at bus stations must be maintained properly.
During his walkthrough of the terminal, Byrathi Suresh interacted with passengers and sought feedback on their daily travel experience and the facilities available at the bus station.
He also directed officials to address issues raised by commuters wherever possible.
The minister appreciated BMTC and KSRTC staff for maintaining the overall cleanliness and upkeep of the bus stations and instructed officials to continue focusing on passenger convenience.
