Bagalkot:A sleeper coach travelling from Hyderabad to Goa overturned after its driver allegedly lost control and collided with three motorcycles near a Reliance petrol bunk at Belagi Cross in Bagalkot district’s Belagi taluk on Thursday morning.
The accident occurred around 8.10 a.m.The impact caused the bus to overturn,leaving several passengers trapped inside.

On receiving information,the Belagi Fire and Emergency Services personnel rushed to the spot with a fire tender and launched a rescue operation.
Firefighters successfully rescued six passengers trapped inside the overturned bus and brought them to safety.
However,one motorcycle rider died on the spot in the accident.
The identity of the deceased and further details regarding injuries to other persons were not immediately available.
Local residents and eyewitnesses who witnessed the rescue operation appreciated the prompt response and efforts of the fire and emergency services personnel.
The rescue operation was led by Regional Fire Officer, Manjunath Sali and District Fire Officer,Prakash Pawar.
Belagi Station Officer Anand Chinagundi,along with Rangappa Nakkaragundhi,Mahadevappa Magi,Magtum Nadaf,Basavaraj Hugar,Farooq Huded,Mantesh Vaddar, Ravi Chavan,Sikandar Sab,Lingaroooda Hallur,Anand Nandagi,Shivagenappa Kumbar and Toship Mulla, participated in the operation.
Police are investigating the circumstances that led to the bus driver losing control.
