A 19-year-old student from Jordan who is studying in a private college was abducted and robbed by an armed gang posing as FRRO officials on Tuesday.
The victim,Abdul Kareem,adding to the woes,alleged that the police shooed him away and refused to take his complant citing network problem in the compouter .
Kareem,later approached an advocate for help depsite goin to the station,the police yet to take any action,he said .
In his video statement which went viral,Kareem,said that the gang posing as FRRO officials came to his house on the pretect of search on Tuesday morning.
They ransacked the house and broke his newly bought phone,while took Rs.1.37 lakh cash,which he had kept for paying colege fee.The accuse took his scooter and took him in the car on the pretext of inquiry.
The accused took him in a car to Yelahanka and handed over him to another gang, who brougt him back home and again aearched the house for valuables in the evening.
They left me warning and when i told them i complained to the police, they smiled and said that the police are with them.
Adding to the worst,when he visited the station and narrated the incident,the police sent him back stating that there is a network issue and they cant take his complaint.They threatened me by putting knife on my kneck and i feel threat to my life .
I came to study in Bengaluru as it is safe,and police are not helping me when i am distress.
I feeling sad and want my valuables back,he said adding that he had approached his embassy for help.
A senior police officer when contacted refuted the allegation stating that they are infact searching for Kareem to question him.
When he visited as part of the protocol,the police officer questioned him about the incident,for which he left in a huff.
We suspect that there was some financial issue with him and the accused which led to the incident.We registered a complaint and initiate probe once we find him,the police officer,said .
City based advocate Owaiz Hussain,who accompanied Kareem to the station,said that he has filed a complaint with the city police commissioner,and FRRO in his regard. .
We demand the police to file an FIR immediately and take action,he told media persons.
