Double Murder in KR Nagar Linked to Property Dispute: Mysuru SP,Mallikarjun Baladandi Superintendent of Police of Mysuru district, on Thursday clarified details surrounding the sensational double murder case reported in KR Nagar,stating that the crime stemmed from a long-standing family property dispute.
Senior officer told reporters that disputes between the two wives of deceased Ramesh Nayak had been ongoing since 2015 over property-related issues.The matter was also pending before a court.
It is said that in 2022,Raghavendra son of the first wife — allegedly murdered his father Ramesh Nayak over the same property dispute and was subsequently jailed.
After being released from prison a few months ago, Raghavendra reportedly resumed disputes related to the family property.
The SP said that from May 1,2026,discussions were being held for nearly four days between the children of the first and second wives in an attempt to resolve the issue.
However, on May 6,the accused allegedly called the victims for a final round of talks and murdered them, police said.
The first wife,Kamakshi, has lodged a complaint against 10 persons in connection with the case.Local residents informed police that five people were present at the murder spot during the incident.
Police have arrested accused Rohit,and KR Nagar Police are continuing the investigation.Further details are being gathered,SP Mallikarjun Baladandi said.
