A 34-year-old private company employee was found dead in a highly decomposed and naked state inside her rented house,raising serious suspicion of foul play.
The deceased has been identified as Puja Dutta,native of Hirapur near Dhanbad in Jharkhand.She had been residing alone in a rented accommodation under the limits of Adugodi Police Station.
The incident came to light after neighbours noticed a strong foul smell emanating from the house and alerted the police. 
Upon arrival,the police broke open the door and discovered the body in a disturbing condition.Officials suspect that the death may have occurred at least two to three days prior.
The circumstances surrounding the death have raised questions,as the body was found naked and in a semi-decomposed state.
Police have not ruled out either murder or suicide and have registered a case.The body has been sent for post-mortem examination,and further details are awaited.
According to the house owner,Janakamma,the victim had been staying in the house for the past three years and was working in a private company.She was unmarried and mostly communicated in Hindi.
“She was often visited by a young man,and they would frequently argue.However,the reason for their disputes was not known,”the house owner stated.
Janakamma further mentioned that she last saw Puja on Thursday when she was coming downstairs to purchase groceries.
“After that, she was not seen.Today,neighbours informed about the foul smell.When we opened the door, she was lying naked in a pool of blood,and the body was badly decomposed,”she added.
Police are now probing the identity of the man who frequently visited the victim,her recent call records,and her social circle to ascertain the sequence of events leading to her death.
During the inspection,officials recovered an old company ID card from the house.They also found several papers torn and scattered across the room,adding to the suspicion surrounding the circumstances of her death.
The exact cause of death will be confirmed after the post-mortem report,police said.
