A college-level dispute took a serious turn after six persons were arrested in connection with a dacoity and assault case within the limits of Konanakunte Police.
The case came to light following a complaint filed on April 18 by a Kerala-native student residing in Pavamana Nagar,Kembattahalli Main Road.
The complainant,along with six other students,was staying in a rented house while pursuing studies at a private college in the city.
According to the complaint,on the night of April 17,six unidentified persons aged between 20 and 25 unlawfully entered the house,assaulted the occupants using hands and a knife,causing bleeding injuries,and threatened them.
The accused then robbed Rs.10,000 in cash,four mobile phones,two laptops,and a two-wheeler.
Police investigation revealed that the attack was linked to a prior clash between students from Kerala and Tamilnadu.
The prime accused,Abinesh,a diploma student from Tamilnadu,allegedly brought his associates from his home state to target the victims following a dispute at college.
Acting on credible information,a police team traced and apprehended the six accused on April 21 at Om Shakti Nagar,Kulathu Palayam,Kovaipudur,Pasumpon Garden in Coimbatore district of Tamilnadu.
During interrogation, the accused reportedly confessed to their involvement.
The arrested have been identified as Abinesh,Kalai Vendhan,Vimal Raj,Kumaran,Prem Kumar,and Naveen Kumar.

Police stated that except Abinesh,the others had completed their education and were employed.None of them had prior criminal records.
Authorities have seized two two-wheelers,four mobile phones,and two laptops worth Rs.3 lakh, including the stolen vehicle of the complainant and another used in the crime.
The accused were produced before the court on April 22 and remanded to judicial custody.
