Karnataka Home Minister Dr.G.Parameshwara on Tuesday said that he has directed the Director General of Police (DGP) to submit a detailed report regarding allegations of harassment made by a DCRE Inspector and a letter written by an SP against the Mangaluru City Police Commissioner.
Speaking to reporters in the city, the minister said he had taken note of media reports on the issue.
The DCRE Inspector, identified as Srinivas, has made several serious allegations, while SP Kashinath has written to the DGP.
“I have sought a report on both matters.Further action will be taken based on the findings and the truth that emerges,” he said.
On the Enforcement Directorate (ED) raids at the residences of the children of MLA N.A.Harris,the minister stated that the government does not have detailed information yet.
“The ED officials must clarify the reasons for the raids and what has been recovered. They usually issue a press statement, and we will wait for that.Any comment before that would be inappropriate,”he added.
Regarding the Bitcoin scam,Parameshwara said that the Special Investigation Team (SIT) probe is in its final stages.
The case has national and international ramifications, and officials are in the process of gathering crucial technical evidence.
“There has been some delay due to the technical nature of the investigation.
However, instructions have already been given to expedite the process and file an interim charge sheet at the earliest,”he said.
Responding to questions about alleged links between influential persons and hacker Srikrishna alias ‘Sriki’, the minister said the investigation would reveal all connections.
“Whoever is involved and what role they played will come out during the probe. Statements made outside and findings of the investigation may differ,” he noted.
On reports of Muslim leaders writing to party high command,he said the matter would be examined.
“The Congress party has always given priority to minority communities. There is also a tradition of giving tickets to family members of deceased leaders.
It should not be misinterpreted. The party leadership, including the president and the Chief Minister, will address the issue,”he said.
