An Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) bus met with an accident near Shivananda Circle in the city on Thursday morning after the driver allegedly swerved to avoid an autorickshaw.

According to preliminary information, the bus was travelling from Adoni to Bengaluru via Anantapur when the incident occurred.

As the vehicle approached Shivananda Circle,an autorickshaw reportedly came close to the left side of the bus.

In an attempt to avoid a collision, the driver steered the bus to the right, losing control and crashing into the road divider.

The impact of the crash caused significant damage to the front portion of the bus, with the front wheel and engine components getting dislodged due to the force of the collision.

Despite the severity of the accident, no passengers were injured.

The driver, who has reportedly been operating on the same route for the past four years, stated that the mishap occurred while trying to avert a collision with the autorickshaw.

Police officers from High Grounds Traffic Police Station reached the spot and are working to remove the damaged bus, which remains stuck on the divider. Further investigation is underway.
