A complaint has been registered against an English teacher of a private school in Lakshmidevinagar, Bengaluru, for allegedly assaulting a Class 4 student.
According to the complaint filed by the child’s mother at the Nandini Layout police station,the incident occurred on January 10.
The teacher identified as Angalina,allegedly assaulted the 10-year-old boy for not completing his homework and threatened him with further harm if he disclosed the incident to anyone.
The mother stated that she came to know about the assault only when she visited the school and questioned her son.
She alleged that despite bringing the matter to the notice of the school management,the accused teacher was not suspended,prompting her to approach the police.
The complaint further alleges that the child has been subjected to repeated harassment and physical punishment over the past two months.
The boy is reportedly traumatised and has refused to attend school.The Police said a case has been registered against the teacher and the school management, and an investigation is underway.
