Ex-Senior Manager booked for allegedly stealing the company’s proprietary software code valued Rs.87 Crore

A former senior employee of Amadeus Software Labs India Private Limited has been booked for allegedly stealing the company’s proprietary software source code valued at €8 million (approximately ₹87 crore).

Senior officer told reporters that the accused Ashutosh Nigam,who worked as Senior Manager–Research Scientist,is accused of unauthorisedly accessing and exfiltrating confidential source code and sensitive software data on October 11, 2025.

The data was allegedly transferred to his personal email account without the company’s consent.

During investigation it was revealed that said Nigam was employed with the company from February 1,2020, pursuant to an asset purchase agreement between Amadeus Software Labs and Innovative Scheduling LLC (Optym).

During an internal audit,company officials detected suspicious data transfers and confronted the employee.

“The accused allegedly admitted to the unauthorised transfer of source code during the internal inquiry, and the admission was video recorded by the company,”a senior officer said.

Following the inquiry,the company terminated his services on December 3,2025.The complainant has stated that the alleged data theft caused severe business impact and compromised the company’s intellectual property rights.

Based on the complaint alleging cheating by deception and cyber offences, police have registered a case in Crime No.0050/2026 under Sections 65,66,66(C), and 66(D) of the Information Technology Act, 2000. Further investigation is underway.
