Karnataka DGP K.Ramachandra Rao suspended by state government over alleged Sleazy videos went viral

Hours after sleazy video surfaced.The state Government has suspended K.Ramachandra Rao, Director General of Police (Civil Rights Enforcement), following allegations of obscene conduct.

In an order issued on Monday,stated that Mr.Rao acted in an absence manner which is unbecoming of a government servant and also causing embarassment to the government.

The order,cites prima facie violation of Rule 3 of the All India Services (Conduct) Rules,1968.

Suspension was enforced under Rule 3(1)(a) of the All India Service (Discipline & Appeal) Rules,1969,pending inquiry.

Mr.Rao has been barred from leaving headquarters without prior approval and will receive subsistence allowance as per rules.

Rao who was under the scanner in the gold smuggling case involving her daughter myred under controversy again after a video of him behaving inappropriately with a woman in the office surfaced.

Audio Evidence:Leaked audio clips have also surfaced, purportedly featuring romantic telephonic conversations between the officer and an unidentified woman.

In a stern reaction to the scandal rocking the state’s police force,Karnataka Home Minister Dr.G Parameshwara told reporters on Tuesday that the government would not hesitate to take the ultimate disciplinary step against DGP K.Ramachandra Rao.

Addressing the media outside his residence,the Minister confirmed that while suspension was the immediate response to the viral “sleaze videos,”the senior officer could face permanent dismissal depending on the investigation’s outcome.

We have acted without any hesitation,regardless of his seniority.Such incidents are a matter of shame,not just for the police department but for the entire government,” Parameshwara stated.
