NCB seized over 1 lakh 33 thousand kgs of narcotic drugs worth around Rs.2000 Crores by arresting 994 Drugs traffickers

The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) recording major operational successes against drug trafficking networks across the country.

During the year,the NCB seized 1,33,965 kilograms of Narcotic drugs valued at approximately Rs.1,980 crore. In a significant move to curb circulation of illicit substances,the agency also destroyed over 77,000 kilograms of narcotic drugs,estimated to be worth Rs.3,889 crore.

Stepping up action against organised drug syndicates, the NCB registered 447 cases and arrested 994 drug traffickers,including 25 Foreign Nationals.

The agency achieved convictions of 265 narcotics offenders,nine of them foreign nationals,reflecting improved prosecution outcomes.

The conviction rate rose to nearly 67% in 2025, up from 60.8% in 2024.

As part of its global enforcement efforts,the NCB issued 37 Interpol notices against fugitive drug traffickers and successfully secured the deportation of five fugitives to India during the year.

Public participation in the fight against drugs also saw a sharp rise.The Anti-Narcotics Helpline ‘MANAS’ received an overwhelming response,registering a record 1.19 lakh citizen interactions,indicating increased awareness and cooperation from the public.

Officials said the achievements underscore the NCB’s unwavering resolve and operational excellence in dismantling drug networks and safeguarding society from the growing threat of Narcotics.
