*Commendable Efforts by Pourakarmikas and Sanitation Staff”.
In view of the New Year 2026 celebrations,the Bengaluru Central City Corporation had taken several precautionary measures in advance to ensure public safety.
These included installation of barricades,deployment of adequate personnel for waste clearance,arrangement of ambulances with medical teams for emergency support, ensuring uninterrupted power supply for sufficient lighting,and appointment of engineers as nodal officers.
Within the limits of the Bengaluru Central City Corporation,sanitation operations were carried out today between 3.00 AM and 8.00 AM,during which cleaning activities were undertaken across M.G.Road,Brigade Road, Church Street,St.Mark’s Road,Indiranagar,and Residency Road.
Within this short duration of just five hours,extensive sanitation work was completed.
During the operation,approximately 9 tonnes of waste were successfully removed,including liquor bottles, slippers,shoes,clothes,leftover food items,plates used for food and snacks,plastic waste,cigarette butts,and other miscellaneous waste.
The Additional Commissioner (Development),Daljit Kumar,appreciated the dedicated efforts of the pourakarmikas,sanitation staff,auto-tipper driver staff, and officials who carried out the sanitation work during the night and early morning hours.
*Sanitation Operation Details:
• 110 pourakarmikas participated.
• 3 Junior Health Inspectors were deployed.
• 10 auto tippers were utilized.
• 3 pressure-jet water cleaning machines were used.
• Duration of cleaning operations: 3.00 AM to 8.00 AM.
Deputy General Manager Bhimesh Nayak and AGMs Appuraj and Ravikumar also participated in the sanitation operations.
