Passengers injured in collision between two sleeper buses near Chandapura flyover

At least four passengers were seriously injured and several others sustained minor injuries after two sleeper buses collided near the Chandapura flyover on the Bengaluru–Chennai National Highway in Anekal taluk on Tuesday.

According to police,the accident occurred when two sleeper buses travelling from Bengaluru towards Chennai rammed into each other near Chandapura.

The rear bus reportedly crashed into the bus ahead, resulting in a major collision.

Preliminary investigation suggests that over speeding

and loss of control by the driver may have led to the accident.Both buses suffered extensive damage in the crash.

Several passengers onboard sustained injuries,with four reported to be in critical condition.The injured were immediately shifted to a nearby private hospital for treatment.

Following the accident,traffic movement on the Bengaluru–Chennai National Highway was disrupted for some time,leading to congestion in the area.

Suryanagar police rushed to the spot,conducted an inspection,and have registered a case.Further investigation is on to ascertain the exact cause of the accident.
