A 23-year-old youth was allegedly kidnapped by a group of transgenders,in an attempt to forcibly convert him through a sex-change procedure,was rescued and reunited with the family .
The incident came to light after the victim’s father,a mouzin at a local mosque,filed a complaint at the DJ Halli police station.
According to the complaint,the youth,a welder by profession had gone missing last Friday,following which the family approached the police.
Based on the missing person report,DJ Halli police began an investigation and traced the youth to Madurai, Tamilnadu with the help of family members of the victim.
Police rescued the youth from Madurai,where the accused had allegedly taken him with the intention of performing a sex-change operation.
Officers said they are verifying whether any medical procedures were actually conducted.
The youth has been admitted to Ambedkar Hospital in Bengaluru for medical examination and treatment.
Meanwhile,the gang of transgenders involved in the kidnapping is currently on the run.Police have launched a search operation to trace the suspects.
A case has been registered at the DJ Halli police station, and further investigation is underway.
In August last year the Pulakeshinagar police had registered a case against five transgenders for allegedly abducting a youth to coerce him into prostitution the victim,who worked as a waiter at a tea shop frequented by the accused,was subjected to severe abuse.
The accused allegedly forced him to beg and then subjected him to Bobbitised and pressured him into sex work.Unable to bear the harassment the victim escaped and approached the police .
In September 2016,a PU student complained to the Pulakeshinagar police that he had been abducted and forced sex change in 2015 by a group of transgenders .
The victim escaped from the gang ten days later and complained to the police .
