In a daring act of bravery,a police constable from Koratagere Police Station in Tumakuru along with Lady Singham officer ASI,Ms.Mayamma L along with Sridhar Home Guard has been hailed as a heroes after risking their life to apprehend a notorious thief.
The incident,captured on CCTV, which has now gone viral on social media with people praising police constable’s act of bravery.
Senior officer told reporters,In a filmi style a police constable staked his life to catch a notorious chain snatcher who tried to flee in a scooter at Sadashivanagar police station junction on Wednesday.
The entire act was caught on CCTV camera where PC Doddalingaiah,attached to Koratagere station in Tumkur got a credible information that he will pass through Sadashivanagar junction he was waiting at the signal as soon as the accused approached to junction he jumped to his scooter and held on to the accused Manjesh.
In a bid to escape the accused dragged constable in a scooter for few yards before he was caught with the help of ASI,a lady Singham officer who was managing traffic in the peak hour noticed constable being dragged by the scooter rider she rushed to help and caught hold of the accused but the accused resisted to escape by pushing the lady Singham officer ASI Mayamma L but she dint give up and caught hold of him as one biker blocked his way and other public immediately rushed to their help with other policemen on duty at the junction and was successful in pinning him down.
The accused Manjesh wanted in over 30 robbery and cheating and chain snatching cases was on the run.He used to cheat elderly women promising government grants and rob their valuables.He was on the run for the last one month wanted by Tumakuru police.
The Koratagere police on a tip off that Manjesh was coming to sadashivanagar waited at the signal.
PC Doddalingaiah noticed manjesh coming on a scooter and tried to stop.Manjesh sensing trouble tried to flee but Doddalingaiah chased and held on to his legs and was dragged on the road.

anjesha was later arrested and taken to Koratagere police station for further investigation.
Finally Home Minister of Karnataka,Dr.G Parameshwara,Karnataka DG-IGP, Alok Mohan,IGP Central Range,Labhuram,SP, Tumakuru,Ashok KV,has appreciated Kortagere Police Constable,Doddalingaiah,ASI,Mayamma L,of Sadashivanagar Traffic,and Sridhar Home guard,and TMC Engineer,Ashok for the timely update about the accused who was tracking his movements from Hessaraghatta junction till Sadashivanagar Junction and for his act of bravery and dare devil act who has risked his life as he was dragged to 20 meters at Junction but he dint give up and nabbed the notorious dreaded criminal for his brave act he has won the hearts of netizens on various social media and has been viral with praising his act a special reward will be given to whole team for their meticulous work who risked their life in dare devil act he added.
