Man a daily wage labourer arrested for killing 23-year-old woman in Seshadripuram over trivial row

Bengaluru police on Sunday arrested a 31-year-old man for allegedly stabbing a woman to death at a construction site in Seshadripuram on Saturday evening over a personal dispute.

The accused,Nagappa Poojari,who lived near Electronic City and worked as a daily-wage labourer,was reportedly enraged after the victim,Sharanamma (23),refused to reveal the whereabouts of her married sister,with whom he is suspected to have had a relationship.

Senior officer said an intoxicated Poojari went to the under-construction building where Sharanamma lived with her husband,took a large kitchen knife and stabbed her in the chest,killing her on the spot.

Sharanamma and her husband,a security guard,had been staying at the site for the past year.The couple hailed from Indi in Vijayapura district.

Seshadripuram police registered a case of murder and tracked down Poojari soon after the incident.He has been taken into custody.Further investigations are on.
