The Peenya police have arrested a 28-year-old Labourer for attacking his wife with a rolling pin over a trivial row , following which she succumbed at the hospital a week later.
Based on the complaint filed by the owner of the house, the police track down Chotelal Singh and arrested him under murder .
Senior officer told reporters that the accused hailed from Madhya Pradesh,and the duo was working as helpers in a private firm and living with his wife and children in Chokkasandra.
The accused used to subject his wife,Prithi Singh,26,to mental and physical harassment without reason.
On September 24,Prithi Singh returned home in the afternoon for lunch,the accused as usual,picked a quarrel and attacked her with a rolling pin used for making chapatis,striking her severely on the head and body.
He later took her to the near-by hospital complaining that she had fallen down from the building and sustained injuries to conceal his crime.
Meanwhile the couple’s two children who witnessed the crime,went to the owner of the company where their mother was employed and disclosed that their father had assaulted their mother.
The company owner then registered a case at Peenya Police Station.
Based on the complaint,the police arrested Chotelal for questioning following which he confessed to brutally assaulting his wife with a rolling pin.
