Two labourers died and one was injured after they were trapped when loose soil collapsed at an under-construction site near Kendriya Sadan in Madiwala police station limits on Tuesday evening.
The deceased have been identified as Razauddin (32)and Laluddin (33),both natives of Jharkhand.The injured worker,Shafauddin is undergoing treatment at the hospital.
The police said that an industrialist has been constructing a building on a 100×100 site near Kendriya Sadan in Siddharthnagar.
On Tuesday,three workers were engaged in laying the foundation concrete when,around 7 pm, soil near the foundation suddenly collapsed,trapping all three workers under the debris.
Police and Fire and Emergency Services personnel rushed to the spot and rescued them.Two workers were declared dead, while the third is receiving treatment,the officer said.
The police further added that details about the building’s owner are being gathered, and the process of registering an FIR is underway.
