An Armed gang of unidentified men allegedly went on a stabbing spree at multiple locations in Uttarahalli, injuring at least four people in seemingly unprovoked attacks on Sunday night led to panic sitiuation among the residents .
Senior officer told reporters that the incidents began around 9 pm near Maramma Circle in Hosahalli,where six to seven men travelling on three to four motorcycles and armed with machetes and long knives allegedly attacked a group of four friends standing by the roadside.
Two of the victims,identified as Kiran N and Kiran H, sustained cut injuries.
While one remains under treatment at a hospital,the other was discharged after receiving first Aid.
The gang allegedly then moved towards Arehalli gate on Uttarahalli main road,where they attacked customers and bystanders near a fish stall.
Two men,identified as Raju and Ravi,were injured.Ravi reportedly suffered severe injuries to his ear and hand.
Personnel from the Subramanyapura police station rushed to the spots following the attacks and later recorded statements from the injured victims at the hospitals.
Deputy Commissioner of Police(Southwest),Dr.SK Soumyalatha said we have formed 3 special teams to trace and arrest the accused.
“Around 9 pm,miscreants arrived on bikes and attacked Kiran N and his friends near Maramma Circle without any apparent motive.
Subsequently,the same group moved near the Arehalli arch,close to a fish stall, and assaulted two persons, Raju and Ravi,”she said.
The police team have identified four suspects and detained few suspects for further investigation to ascertain the motive behind the attack.
