Karnataka Women’s panel seeks action against Bengaluru cops for ‘dragging woman on road’

The Karnataka State Commission for Women has sought action against a police officer who allegedly manhandled a woman.

In a letter dated September 29,the commission stated that members of the Karnataka Rashtra Samithi (KRS) had gone to the Madanayakanahalli police station to seek justice for farmers but were arrested in a false case.

A few other workers who had visited the station to question the arrest,were allegedly threatened by Nelamangala police inspector Narendra Babu,who also snatched their mobile phones.

“On the other hand,Madanayakanahalli police inspector, Muralidhar grabbed a woman’s mobile phone and dragged her on the public road.

This distressful incident has been reported in the media. Immediate action needs to be taken,” the commission told Bengaluru Rural SP in its letter.
