Bengaluru district cyber crime police organised Victim day at station

Officials of the Bengaluru district cyber crime station on Saturday organised victim day at station to not only update the progress of the cases but also conduct awareness program.Highlighted present raising fraud and how to avoid.

The program attended by over 50 people,covered
not only cyber crimes also emphasised woman,child, drug,property offenses,do’s and don’ts in social media.

As prevention of better then cure,the idea is to bridge public police relationships in better way and also to help the victims in all possible way,CK Baba,superintendent of police,Bengaluru district,said .

It’s general tendency that the victims are cyber frauds are shattered and affected psychologically due to several reasons .

The staff have been given training on how to counsel them through proper dialogue so that they should feel better.

A help desk has been set up at the dedicated station where staff are trained to help the victims in all possible ways,Baba,said.

The cyber crime station also has a laptop and templates to help the victims to full the required information without much hassle .

The staff will talk to them take them into confidence and also give them tips on dos and don’t while they are using internet and social media.

The staff at the station also have stories on interesting cyber crimes and different types of MOs the cyber frauds use to cheat people.

The awareness program at the victims day includes crime against women and children,cyber bullying , narcotics,crime against property there are different modus operandi used regularly to cheat people and the staff at the station will tell people and visitors on how to use the internet safely.

The victims day program,part of the state police head , concept of victim centric approach which was first started in Southeast Division a few years ago.

The victims day program will be conducted at the station on regular basis and plans to extend to other stations as outreach program .
