The Siddapura police on Tuesday arrested a 36-year-old domestic help along with her relative for stealing valuables worth Rs.22 lakh from her employers house .
The accused Annareddy Durga,from Telangana was working at the house of a city based doctor situated in Jayanagar first block,for the last one and half years .
The accused along with her relative Venkateshwara Rao accessed the wardrobe and escaped with the valuables including gold,silver and diamond jewels and expensive watches total worth Rs.22 lakh.
The theft came to light on July 28 when the owners noticed Durga is missing mysteriously and her phone was not reachable.
On suspicion,the family checked the house to find the valuables were missing.
Based on the complaint,the Siddapura police tracked her down to her relatives house along with her relative Venkateshwara Rao in Rangpur in Telangana state and recovered the valuables,which they had pawned in a gold shop .
City police commissioner,Seemant Kumar Singh appreciating the police work,advised people to be careful while employing the domestic help .
in a similar incident,a 61-year-old businessman from Cresent road has filed a complaint with the high grounds police against his domestic help for stealing valuables worth Rs.75 lakh .
S Ashok Kumar, the complainant had employed Bheeshan Bahadur Shah,Binta Sihi and Padam Bahadur Shah from Nepal as domestic help and left them at home to take care,while went to Kodagu with his family on a trip .
The theft came to light on August 12,when Mr.Kumar tried to call them but their mobile was switched off and his security cameras also had gone offline.
He called his neighbour to check and found that they are missing and one of the window of the house was cut open.
The complainant called his relatives to check before rushing back home to find the 3 to 4 doors of the house were damaged and many of the Almirah doors and drawers were damaged and valuables including gold, diamond and silver articles,costly watched along with electric vehicle total worth Rs.75 lakh has been taken away.
