“Rahul Gandhi is trying to paralyze democracy to cover up his failures”.

Bengaluru:Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi,is trying to paralyze democracy by making allegations against constitutional institutions to cover up his own failures, alleged former Chief Minister and MP Basavaraj Bommai.

He claimed that Rahul Gandhi has made serious accusations but has avoided submitting an affidavit to the Election Commission, effectively fleeing from the situation.

Speaking to the media here on Friday,Bommai questioned whether Rahul even understands how the Election Commission functions and what the Representation of the People Act says.

Either Gandhi is unaware or is deliberately trying to pass off lies as truth.Rahul is targeting constitutional institutions in an attempt to render democracy ineffective.

The MP said that since the Congress party has lost three consecutive Lok Sabha elections under Rahul Gandhi’s leadership, dissent within the party has grown.

To divert attention from that,he is now making baseless allegations against constitutional institutions.Rahul is playing a dangerous game that poses a threat to democracy, and the people are seeing through it”.

The former CM pointed out that new voters are added before every election. In the Mahadevapura assembly constituency alone, over 1 lakh new voters were added in 2009 when the UPA government was in power.

“Did anyone accuse the UPA of manipulating the voter list back then? Before the recent state assembly elections,Deputy CM D.K. Shivakumar had confidently declared that the Congress would win 136 seats, which raised suspicions.”Does that mean they manipulated the process?Nobody questioned it,”Bommai said.

He said in Mahadevapura, over a lakh new voters have been added.Who voted for whom? Does anyone know?.

The Election Commission appoints booth-level agents (Agent 1 and Agent 2) from every party to supervise the process of voter list inclusion.

Were Congress agents not present?.

Rahul Gandhi should have asked them. The Election Commission has now asked him to submit an affidavit. Instead,he is doing a hit-and-run.Clearly,he is not interested in the truth.

Submit affidavit to the Commission

Bommai demanded that Rahul Gandhi release the voter list of the Wayanad constituency he represented. He is accusing Prime Minister Narendra Modi of becoming PM for a third time by manipulation. If he’s making such allegations, then he must provide evidence. The responsibility lies with him.

The Congress is outsourcing its work to NGOs and is making accusations based on the information provided by them.

They earlier accused EVMs,and when the truth emerged, now they are targeting the Election Commission.Rahul Gandhi was in Bengaluru but didn’t go to the Commission to submit the affidavit. Why?”Bommai questioned.

Responding to Congress leaders’ allegations that PM Modi became Prime Minister by stealing votes,Bommai said,Modi is not new to politics.

He served as Chief Minister of Gujarat four times and is now Prime Minister for the third term.If he were truly rigging elections, would the NDA have lost 32 seats in the last Lok Sabha election?.

In some places, they lost by just 30,000 votes.”If we wanted to win through illegitimate means,we would have secured a larger majority.”

“Will you retire from politics?”.

On the issue of fake voters in Maharashtra, the MP said, on one hand,Rahul Gandhi accuses that fake voters were added in Maharashtra, and on the other,he opposes the corrective steps taken.

What should the Election Commission do?What evidence will you provide? If your allegations are not proven, will you retire from politics?.

When asked about the Congress’s accusation that the BJP buys MLAs with money, the former CM hit back:”It was the Congress that started the practice of purchasing MLAs.

In Maharashtra, during the tenure of Vilasrao Deshmukh, it was D.K.Shivakumar who kept MLAs under his protection.Congress is the one that institutionalized the practice of buying legislators.”

“Politically motivated :

Regarding the case registered against Chikkaballapur MP Dr.K.Sudhakar in connection with the suicide of his car driver,Bommai claimed that it is politically motivated.

Police have registered a case against him under political pressure. He should not yield to such pressure.”A proper investigation must be conducted and the truth should be brought to light. We will fight this case legally—we have the right to do so.We will fight in court,” he asserted.
