The Liondean Foundation, known for its commendable service to society over the past year, marked its first Foundation Day with a grand celebration at the Constitution Club of India, New Delhi. The event was a vibrant mix of cultural programs and a prestigious award ceremony recognizing individuals who have made significant contributions in their respective fields.
The program was organized under the leadership of Rupendra Tiwari, Founder of the Lion Dean Foundation, whose vision has driven the organization to support the underprivileged and promote social welfare through various impactful initiatives.
The event was graced by Shri Jagannath Sarkar, Member of Parliament from Ranaghat, West Bengal, as the Chief Guest. He was joined by Sandeep Marwah, Chancellor of AAFT University, and Vipin Gaur, General Secretary of the Newspaper Association of India, who were present as Guests of Honour.
In his address, MP Jagannath Sarkar praised the Foundation’s commitment to social causes and said, “There are very few people who selflessly serve society. Rupendra Tiwari and his team deserve heartfelt congratulations.” He emphasized the need for education among the underprivileged and called upon all organizations to actively participate in such efforts.
Sandeep Marwah highlighted the role of education in solving many of society’s problems, stating that an educated society commands global respect. Vipin Gaur called journalism the “biggest social service”, saying it bridges the gap between the government and the common man, and plays a vital role in nation-building.
The ceremony saw honours bestowed upon several notable individuals: Dr. Naved Sabir, Principal Scientist at CPCT, ICAR–IARI, New Delhi, was honoured as the Best Scientist in R&D. Dr. Hemanthraju, DIG Medical, BSF Rajasthan, received the Best Medical Services Award. Dr. Dinesh Kumar, Co-founder of Arrow Optronics Pvt. Ltd. & DesignInnova, was named the Best Scientific Entrepreneur. Renowned actor and producer Rishi Bhutani received the Best Actor Award. Chandra Shekhar Jain, Director of Ramee Royal Resort & Spa, Udaipur, was recognized as the Best Entrepreneur in Hospitality. Piyush Tiwari, Journalist at News One India, Delhi Bureau, was awarded Best Journalist – TV. Popular comedian, poet, and writer Deepak Saini was honoured as the Best Comedian & Writer. Aparna Mozzam, News Anchor at ABP News, received the Best News Anchor Award. Ankit Trivedi, Journalist at Kashish News, Delhi Bureau, was named Best Journalist.
Vimal Singh, National Panelist of BJP, was awarded as Best Spokesperson.Satyawan Sehrawat, an organic farmer and entrepreneur from Dariyapur Kalan, NW Delhi, received the Best Organic Farmer Award. Sumit Kumar was honoured for his work as a Writer & Poet. Himanshu Dixit, Output Head at TV9, received the Best Media Person Award. Jaya Mishra, News Anchor at News18 India, was recognized as Best Anchor – TV. Rohan N. Nalwa, radio host of “FM DL935,” was awarded for the Best Radio Show. Rashid Hashmi, former Executive Editor at India News TV, was honoured as Best News Editor. Dr. Kankan Kumar Gunri, State Secretary, BJP SC Morcha, West Bengal, received the Best Social Mobilizer Award. Anirban Bose, a noted social worker from West Bengal, was honoured as the Best Social Worker. Dr. Binish Thomas, Director (Asia Region) of the International Council, received the Best Print Media Journalist Award.
The celebration concluded on a high note with a pledge by the Foundation to continue its work with even greater zeal in the coming years. From education and journalism to science, entertainment, and agriculture — the event showcased how every sector plays a role in shaping a better India. Lion Dean Foundation reiterated its commitment to empowering the underprivileged, encouraging innovation, and honouring excellence in public service.
