Opposition leader R.Ashok expressed outrage against the Siddaramaiah government,alleging that Congress is plotting to rename the KRS reservoir as Tipu Sultan Sagar.
Tipu Sultan died in 1799,and the construction of the KRS reservoir began in 1911.It was built a full 112 years later—if Tipu had laid the foundation,shouldn’t the name have been given back then? he questioned.
He lashed out,saying that attempting to attach Tipu’s name to the Krishnaraja Sagar Dam is an insult to Nalwadi Krishnaraja Wodeyar,and further accused Tipu Sultan of being a traitor to the land,a Persian,a religious fanatic who killed thousands of Hindus and destroyed temples. Imposing such a person’s name on KRS reveals the Congress mindset,he fumed.

Under Nalwadi Krishnaraja Wodeyar’s rule,old Mysore saw significant development.No taxes were imposed on anyone for the construction of the KRS reservoir.
However, the Siddaramaiah government has taken loans worth 2 lakh crore in two years and burdened the people with taxes.
Comparing such a Chief Minister to Nalwadi is shameful, he attacked. If Congress wants to retain respect in the state, they should immediately apologize to the people of the state and the Nalwadi family.
If you speak like this,people will reduce your party to dust. Apologize to the royal family immediately and preserve your dignity, he demanded.

R.Ashok also lashed out at Rahul Gandhi,saying that Rahul Gandhi,who was somewhere for two years,has now come to Karnataka for elections. In the last two years, there have been 2,000 farmer suicides, deaths of pregnant women, deaths due to microfinance—why didn’t he come when 11 innocent youths died during IPL victory celebrations? he questioned.
He compared Congress’s election irregularities to a demon holding the Bhagavad Gita.Let Rahul Gandhi drop whatever bomb he wants;we’ll see,challenged R. Ashok, dismissing Congress’s allegations of irregularities in the Kanakapura election.

*Support for Transport Workers’ Protest:
R.Ashok criticized the government on the transport workers’ protest issue, saying that when he was the transport minister,he had fulfilled their demands.
But the Congress government has not paid four years’ arrears,causing trouble to transport staff and the public. CM Siddaramaiah should immediately fulfill the demands,he urged.
‘The government’s treasury is empty,people are being looted.Even government employees are not getting salaries properly,’he alleged.
